On the 12th day of awareness my true love gave to me….
Ahhh… couldn’t resist. Welcome back to another day of raising awareness, and hence, consciousness.
For those of you who are new to this, click the Conscious Life Experiment 30 Days To Awareness link at the top of the page. You can get a full explanation of this very simple experiment on DAY 1.
For those of you returning to continue the exploration, well, you know what to do.
And remember, there’s no right or wrong way to explore this. The image is to help with meditation, to perhaps open you to seeing and thinking in a different way. The word for the day is there for us to consider how it applies to us. What does it mean to us and how does it show up in our internal conversations.
As for those four minutes of meditation…
It’s really quite simply an attempt to relax a bit, which for many of us, myself included, can be a surprisingly difficult thing to do.
So try this… close your eyes. Slow your breathing. Slower. Just focus on your breathing. Let the tension go from your muscles with each exhale. Just take 3 to 4 minutes to do that. Hell, set a timer if need be. You can stare at the day’s image if that helps, or open your eyes at the end at look at it. You may see some interesting things. You may not. It doesn’t matter. The point is to just begin to “win” at meditation. And that means to allow yourself to just relax and refresh, even if it’s just for 4 minutes. You probably won’t have any life changing, monk-on-a-mountain moments of supreme consciousness. But, you might. And really, you might just begin to extend your meditation time adding just a minute more until you reach a place were, oh my, you’re relaxing for 20 minutes or more. Considering the documented benefits, I’d say that’s worth the effort.
Here’s today’s meditation image….
And today’s word is “death”…
Now remember, that which you resist shall persist and there are no negative words… just associations and meanings that we assign to language. And it can be very empowering to see what those meanings are, what our automatic thinking is. Awareness is the key to change. The first steps in growth.
As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences with this little experiment. So please, tell us.
I remain, yours in creating possibility,
P.S. To Zengirl, as always, my gratitude and love for all that you bring me and share with me.
