Well this one is pretty self explanatory. I took one of the spray blast works and monochromed it in each of the seven main chakra colors. There are many chakras in the body, but there is a grouping of seven that’s considered to be the main event. They are each connected to different parts of the body and are represented by different colors. There’s a lot I could go into about chakras and their specific meanings, but I’m not an expert in either chakras or pretty much anything else for that matter,
So, I’ll give you a link to a beginner’s guide to the chakras on the website Mind Body Green from which you can launch your own exploration. Don’t worry, there’s plenty out there to read and see.
And here’s the Wikipedia page for those of you into that sort of thing,,,
And for those who want a good book on the subject, here’s a link to “Wheels of Life” on Amazon…
Now, the seven main chakras run in a column up from the base of the spine to the top of our heads. They are each associated with various emotional functions and or spiritual connection and ability. Basically, starting from the base of the spine, they run like this…
RED/ROOT CHAKRA: Base of the spine
ORANGE/SACRAL CHAKRA: Lower abdomen
YELLOW/SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA: Upper abdomen
GREEN/HEART CHAKRA: Center of the chest
BLUE/THROAT CHAKRA: Throat area
INDIGO/THIRD EYE CHAKRA: Forehead between your two eyes
PURPLE/CROWN CHAKRA: The very top of your head
In each of us, these chakras are in varying degrees, opened or closed or at some point in between. It is considered a very good thing if one can balance their chakras as too much of even a good thing can be detrimental. Chakra healing and balancing takes a bit of work, perhaps a lot of work. Yoga, I have heard, is quite effective for this kind of thing and certain types of yoga are even more so. But my job isn’t to teach you yoga or, for that matter anything else, but rather to “make stuff.” So that’s what I did. I hope that those doing the work will find this piece helpful and meditative and that those of us who are not actively looking to balance or enhance are chakras, will find it enlightening, interesting and perhaps even cool.
So that’s a lot of words… time for the visual. It’s quite large in the physical world being nearly 9 feet tall. But here, it fits on your screen! Miracles of technology… got to love it.
So there it is… enjoy it, use it, may it help you expand your consciousness and balance your world beginning with the inner one. Remember, we love to hear from you, so feel free to drop your thoughts and opinions on us.
Yours in the chaos of random possibility…
P.S. For your practice my most treasured and beloved Zengirl…
