Tribal Psychedelic Art: “New Mexico Butterfly”, “Animal Totem” and “Hopi 1” Welcome to the peyote desert.

Three new and related works. Well, related in my mind at least, lol. These all seem very tribal Southwest to me. There’s a certain “peyote in the desert” feel to them. Something that speaks to me of big, open spaces, high plateaus and a dry land. Remnants of one of the rounds of spray blast raku.

But I’ll not burden these with too many words…

Here’s “New Mexico Butterfly”…

Landscapes. Topography. Colors intense and richly creamy and thick. Sunset. Desert. Yes? No? Maybe so?

Here “HOPI 1″…

"HOPI 1" is a tribal psychedelic peyote and lsd influenced art work and image. By Sacred Square Art and Design.

Heavy color. Heavy texture. Has that Southwest Gone Wrong feel.

Here’s a “ANIMAL TOTEM”…

Similar to “HOPI 1”, but scratchier, rougher, like pigments, chalk on a cave wall or an animal skin. Talking to the invisible and giving it an image. A symbol. A power. Digging where this one went.

As always, your opinions, observations and lucid or not so lucid thoughts are warmly received and muchly treasured so feel free to throw your digital debris out the window and on to our virtual lawn…. we love a free thinker.

Yours in messing with it,

P.S. Mmmm…. “muchly”, indeed….
