“Breathe” Psychedelic Art for Meditation and Recreational Drug Use. A Dead iPhone as Canvas.

Yes, that’s correct. I blasted away with the spray paint on an old iPhone that had finally, after 3 years of rather faithful service, died. It’s one of the few things I don’t like about Apple. You can’t change the battery on the iPhone. Maybe there’s a really good reason for this. Maybe not. But once the battery goes, so long phone. So I decided that it would make a good, if rather small, canvas for a blasting experiment.

Wet on wet spray paint on iPhone. The result is pretty cool and much like the result of blasting on metal although it seems to have a smoother feel to it. Could be the result of the plastic. I used the back of it for this. I’ll blast away on the front later today. I essentially took photos of the back, zooming in and then bringing them into the computer for some rearranging. The result is this triptych. It feels like it’s breathing to me, hence the title. I find that it certainly has a meditative quality to it, a vibrational aspect. Might be more so if the panels were not grouped. The eye and mind tend to stray a bit when presented with three images.

Anyway, enough words, here’s the image… enjoy.
